FRIDAY, FEB. 16 – SUNDAY, FEB. 18

BITCOIN, ETHEREUM, AND BLOCKCHAIN SUPER CONFERENCE
Dallas Fort-Worth Airport Marriott North, 8440 Freeport Pkwy., in Irving

This three-day conference is organized by Richard Jacobs, publisher of the Future Tech Podcast and co-founder of consultancy firm Blockchain Edge. Organizers expect a minimum of 45 headline speakers with talks from founders, developers, and early-stage investors of blockchain startups, including many that are planning ICOs throughout 2018, according to a release.

Confirmed speakers include:

  • Tim Draper, the billionaire venture capitalist
  • Erik Voorhees, who was featured in the Netflix documentary Banking on Bitcoin
  • Charlie Shrem, founder of the Bitcoin Foundation.

In addition to the main conference, there will be a hackathon for kids, teens and young adults and an additional “beginners track” for those new to cryptocurrency. This is a private event limited to 800 attendees, according to the event website.

BLOCKCHAIN & CRYPTOCURRENCY
Addison Convention Center, 15650 Addison Rd., in Addison 
Events begin at 8 a.m. each day

The first international conference devoted to blockchain technology and decentralized technology will be held this year at the Addison Convention Center. With a wide range of keynote speakers each day, attendees are expected to range from legal and governmental professionals to technology and science related executives to marketing professionals, according to the event site. There will be class-style workshops in addition to the keynote speakers, and the full agenda will be posted at the end of January 2018.

AUTOMATION EVERYWHERE

The online news platforms for the telecommunications industry, Light Reading and Dark Reading, are putting on the first annual event for key players in the communications service providers, systems integrators, and OTTs that are forging the automation revolution. 

The two-part event taking place in Dallas, Texas, in April, and London, UK, in September will cover insights and supporting analytics and networking opportunities, according to the event site.

Amazon Chairman and CEO Jeff Bezos will be the keynote speaker at the April 20th Closing Conversation of the George W. Bush Presidential Center’s Forum on Leadership.

“Jeff Bezos is a visionary entrepreneur who has changed the world,” Ken Hersh, president and CEO of the George W. Bush Presidential Center said. “He exemplifies the type of leader we’re celebrating at the Forum on Leadership, and we look forward sharing his insight and perspective with Dallas.”
