On Demand Car Care: Service With the Push of a Button

No time for car maintenance? This TCU alum's company will whisk your ride away for cleaning, oil and filter changes, and more.

On Demand

Does your car need servicing, but you don’t have the time to get it done?

A new Fort Worth startup, On Demand Car Care, is offering a concierge service for car cleaning, oil and filter changes, state inspections, and dealership or mechanic drop off — all with a free gas fill-up with a booking. Scheduling is done via the company’s app, which it developed in house.

The company is the brainchild of Texas Christian University alum Lee Downing, who said his mission is to simplify car servicing while you stay at your home or office.

Under the service, On Demand Car Care sends a fully insured company driver to pick up your vehicle at your home or office, and then returns it once servicing is done.

“Creating a seamless, transparent experience for the customers as well as the service providers is a goal.”
Lee Downing

“Car care of the past has been such a convoluted ordeal,” Downing said in a release. “Creating a seamless, transparent experience for the customers as well as the service providers is a goal.”

He said the On Demand Car Care facilitates and oversees “all aspects of the process so that everyone has a great experience.”

ODCC is partnering with local service providers to ensure that, in addition to their general list of services, clients’ vehicles are assessed for routine maintenance needs such as tire pressure and brake checkups.

Service records are retained so that they can be used for any future sale or care of the vehicle.

ON DEMAND CAR CARE PLANS TO UPDATE SERVICE

The company’s software provides a real-time view of the concierge and a customer’s vehicle, as well as a SMS that has built-in reminders of appointments and updates customers on the arrival of the concierge and their contact information.

ODCC said that future updates will include a dashboard allowing customers to have an view of all elements of their vehicle, including:

  • The ability to see future manufacturers’ maintenance recommendations and estimated cost
  • Percentage life of tires
  • Current value of the vehicle
  • Previous maintenance records
  • Any recalls that may be outstanding.

The company’s launch party will be from 7 to 10 p.m. Oct. 12 at the Violet Room, 2634 Weisenberger St. in the Foundry Distict of Fort Worth.
