It’s Up, and It’s Good! PepsiCo & Wing To Deliver Free Super Bowl Snacks by Drone in Frisco

PepsiCo's free Party Pack—which will include Doritos, Tostitos dips, and Pepsi Zero Sugar—will be delivered to eligible Frisco residents by Wing drones Feb. 8-9, in time for the Super Bowl matchup of the Chiefs vs. the Eagles.

Plano-based PepsiCo and drone delivery company Wing are teaming up to deliver Super Bowl snacks by air to residents of Frisco, where fans can order a free PepsiCo Party Pack Feb. 8-9.

The Party Pack—which will include Doritos, Tostitos dips, and Pepsi Zero Sugar—will be delivered by Wing’s drones in time for the kickoff of Super Bowl LIX on Sunday, Feb. 9.

“This is an exciting opportunity to reimagine and demonstrate new ways of showing up to our consumers in a sustainable way, and enjoy their favorite PepsiCo products, without having to miss a moment of the game,” Amanda DeVoe-Bice, PepsiCo Strategic Partnerships Senior Director, said in a statement.

The companies said Frisco residents can download the Wing app to make sure they’re ready to claim their PepsiCo Party Pack. The app will indicate whether or not the resident’s address is eligible and, if it is, residents will be able to press “order” on Super Bowl weekend and have the snacks flown to them.

The marketing stunt marks PepsiCo’s first “foray” into drone delivery, the company noted.

An effort to “decarbonize the value chain”

Wing said its highly automated, all-electric drones can deliver small items and meals in minutes. After running its route to a customer’s door, cruising up to 65 mph at a height of about 150 feet along the way, the drone will gently lower the order to the turf for the customer to unpack.

California-based Wing and PepsiCo said they’re working toward a more sustainable future that includes the way snacks get delivered. PepsiCo said this is its first foray into drone delivery and is an effort to decarbonize the value chain.

Wing, too, said it envisions a world of more sustainable supply chains. It said it has been working toward that for the better part of a decade, completing commercial drone deliveries around the world.
