Fritz’s Adventure Zips Open April 2 at Grandscape in The Colony

Fritz’s Adventure will feature an indoor/outdoor "TreeTops zipline course" that will send guests zipping around the building and back inside again. There will also be extreme slides, underground tunnels, giant treehouses, a multi-level ropes course, and "much more."

Grandscape in The Colony is already packed with experiential entertainment venues, including a Tiger Woods putting concept, a surfing restaurant and bar, a massive immersive reality venue, and several more. But on April 2 another attraction opens there—and it’s time to get physical.

The new addition is Fritz’s Adventure, an indoor/outdoor adventure park and family attraction featuring over 100,000 square feet of “explorable space” at 5651 Nebraska Furniture Mart Drive. Fritz’s will feature an indoor/outdoor “TreeTops Zipline Course” that will send guests zipping past towers erected along the Sam Rayburn Tollway and back inside through the building’s rafters. The zipline offers varying levels of difficulty, comes equipped with safety harnesses, and is guided by experts to ensure a “fun and secure adventure.”

Other adventures and offerings will include:

  • Multi-Level Ropes Course and Climbable City Wall: Guests can test their skills by climbing to the top of an old building on obstacles that cater to various abilities, from novices eager to learn to seasoned climbers seeking new challenges.
  • Treehouses, Slides, and Underground Tunnels: Guests will explore caves, exciting slides, and a complex underground labyrinth. Suitable for family members of all ages, the features “promote problem-solving and sheer enjoyment.”
  • Food and Beverage: A cafe will offer menu items including sandwiches, pizza, and more for guests to refuel during their visit. Coffee, smoothies, beer and wine are also available for purchase.

The adventure concept’s original location in Branson, Missouri, opened in 2016. The Grandscape location will be the concept’s second venue.

“Fritz’s Adventure was inspired by the love my wife and I have adventuring with our kids,” Fritz’s Owner and CEO Matt Engram said when the location was announced in 2023.

“We’re thrilled to open our doors at Grandscape and become a part of one of the nation’s top entertainment hubs,” Engram added in a statement last week. “Our mission is to create WOW moments by providing a space where families and friends can come together to challenge themselves and make lasting memories.”

So why is it called “Fritz’s” if the owner’s named Matt? Here’s how the company explains it:

“In the story of The Swiss Family Robinson by Johann Wyss, Fritz was the oldest child and a natural born explorer. He was a leader who possessed courage, never backed down from a challenge, and had a heart for adventure. At Fritz’s Adventure, we believe everyone is either in search of their next adventure or they need to find their inner “Fritz” to face fears and conquer challenges.”
