Fritos and Floyd’s Offering 1,000 Free Mullet Haircuts in August

As the official snacks sponsor of the 2023 USA Mullet Championships, Plano-based Fritos is offering 1,000 free mullet haircuts on Fridays in August at Floyd's Barbershops across the U.S.

Mullet haircuts offer the best of both worlds: business up front and a party in the back. To celebrate the epic hairstyle, the USA Mullet Championships launched in 2020 with an adult competition on who could sport the sweetest cut of all. Now the creatives at Frito-Lay in Plano (yep, they’re at it again) have seized on this year’s championships by making Fritos the official snacks sponsor—and you could get a free mullet cut out of the deal.

Fritos is offering 1,000 free mullet cuts in August—while appointments last—every Friday through August 25 at every Floyd’s Barbershop in the U.S., including all locations in Dallas-Fort Worth.

“People express themselves with their hair, and since we’re seeing this tremendous resurgence of the mullet hairstyle, we’re excited to help people embrace their individuality by making it easier than ever to rock this epic look while enjoying an iconic snack like Fritos,” Tina Mahal, SVP of brand marketing at Frito-Lay, said in a statement.

“As the brand that’s all about authenticity and comfort in being yourself, we’re on a mission to help our fans go with the flow—literally—this summer with our Free Fritos Flow Fridays at every Floyd’s Barbershop location nationwide.”

Mullet Championships founder: ‘no mullet is created equally’

“We believe no mullet is created equally, and all mullets should be celebrated,” said Kevin Begola, founder of USA Mullet Championships. “By teaming up with Fritos, a brand almost as classic and timeless as the mullet, we’re able to make this year’s competition the biggest one yet. We also love that we’ll be seeing even more mullets in the wild this summer because of this campaign.”

You can book your free mullet haircut by visiting floydsbarbershop.com and selecting the Fritos Flow Mullet when setting your appointment.

How to enter the championships
