Irving-based RollKall—a leading provider of “extra-duty” law enforcement tech solutions—has landed a major client in its own back yard.
The Dallas Police Department has announced its partnership with RollKall, which will help to streamline and automate the department’s off-duty job program. The move will benefit “both law enforcement and the businesses and entities that hire Dallas Police employees for off-duty details,” RollKall said.
Implementing RollKall will provide the DPD with a platform for police officers, DPD professional staff, coordinators, and the public to request and coordinate off-duty jobs. Once it’s implemented, all off-duty jobs will be scheduled through RollKall, the company said.
“The safety and well-being of our employees and the community we serve are paramount,” DPD Chief Eddie Garcia said in a statement. “Partnering with RollKall allows us to achieve greater oversight, transparency, and compliance in our off-duty program, ultimately helping to improve public safety and coverage across the city.”
‘Simplifying and optimizing’ off-duty work

RollKall CEO Brad Duea, who joined the company in December, said the collaboration underscores his company’s commitment “to providing innovative solutions that benefit both law enforcement and the businesses they serve.”
The DPD is working with RollKall on the platform’s rollout, and will be providing outreach, education, and training to vendors, businesses, and DPD employees on how to use the platform, RollKall said.

RollKall’s platform enables users to schedule, post, view, and apply for off-duty jobs in one location, which is available via computer or smartphone.
RollKall says by gaining deeper insights into officer schedules and workload, the DPD “can work to further ensure officers are not overworked—crucial to their effectiveness in serving and protecting the community.”
The platform also offers “convenient, online payments processing,” which RollKall said makes it easier for the city of Dallas to collect payments for the use of department equipment used for special events and extra job details.
Policy enforcement features built into the platform will aid in ensuring that all extra-duty assignments adhere to departmental policies and regulations, thereby increasing compliance and accountability, RollKall said.
No cost to taxpayers
RollKall said its collaboration with the DPD will incur no costs to taxpayers. It also said there will be no added charges for enhanced neighborhood patrols , homeowner associations, or nonprofit organizations who hire additional officer patrols.
