Abstract: Active catalysts for the treatment of a low temperature exhaust gas stream are provided containing copper oxides dispersed on a spinel oxide for the direct, lean removal of nitrogen oxides from the exhaust gas stream. The low temperature, direct decomposition is accomplished without the need of a reductant molecule. In one example, CuO[subscript]x [/subscript]may be dispersed as a monolayer on a metal oxide support, such as Co[subscript]3[/subscript]O[subscript]4 [/subscript]spinel oxide, synthesized using an incipient wetness impregnation technique. The CuO[subscript]x[/subscript]/Co[subscript]3[/subscript]O[subscript]4 [/subscript]catalyst system converts nitric oxide to nitrogen gas with high product specificity, avoiding the production of a significant concentration of the undesirable N[subscript]2[/subscript]O product.

Application No., Date, Speed: 13957181 on 08/01/2013 (2259 days app to issue)

Abstract: A computer-implemented system and method of influencing customer behavior. The customer is offered a price-per-unit (PPU) discount for fuel as a reward for performing a predefined action. A point-of-sale (POS) system at a merchant determines that the customer performed the predefined action, and stores the PPU discount and a customer identifier in a Discounts-Earned database. When the customer initiates a subsequent purchase of fuel, at the merchant or a different retail fueling merchant, a fuel dispenser controller retrieves the PPU discount from the database, discounts the posted price of the fuel by the PPU discount, and causes the dispenser to dispense fuel to the customer at the reduced price. A redeemed discounts calculator multiplies the PPU discount by the number of units purchased in the fueling transaction, and a clearing mechanism allocates the redeemed discount between the merchant and the retail fueling merchant.

Abstract: Techniques for reducing program disturb of memory cells which are formed in a two-tier stack, when a selected word line is in the upper tier. In one approach, at the start of the program phase of a program loop, voltages of word lines adjacent to the interface are increased to a pass voltage before voltages of remaining word lines are increased to a pass voltage. This delay provides time for residue electrons in the lower tier to move toward the drain end of a NAND string to reduce the likelihood of program disturb. In another approach, the voltages of the word lines adjacent to the interface are maintained at 0 V or other turn-off voltage during the program phase to block the passage of residue electrons from the lower tier to the upper tier.

Abstract: Methods of encoding and decoding video in a low-fidelity mode are described. A coding unit level low-fidelity flag is present in the bitstream to signal whether low-fidelity mode is enabled for a particular coding unit or not. If enabled, then, for that coding unit, the chroma quantization parameter is determined using the luma quantization parameter adjusted by a low-fidelity-mode offset. If not enabled, then, for that coding unit, the chroma quantization parameter is determined using the luma quantization parameter without adjustment by the low-fidelity-mode offset. The chroma quantization parameter is then used in the scaling of quantized chroma transform domain coefficients. Use with luma or other video components is also proposed.

Application No., Date, Speed: 16137417 on 09/20/2018 (383 days app to issue)

Abstract: Systems and methods for determining user equipment (UE) locations within a wireless network using reference signals of the wireless network are described. The disclosed systems and methods utilize a plurality of in-phase and quadrature (I/Q) samples generated from signals provided by receive channels associated with two or more antennas of the wireless system. Based on received reference signal parameters the reference signal within the signals from each receive channel among the receive channels is identified. Based on the identified reference signal from each receive channel, an angle of arrival between a baseline of the two or more antennas and incident energy from the UE to the two or more antennas is determined. That angle of arrival is then used to calculate the location of the UE. The angle of arrival may be a horizontal angle of arrival and/or a vertical angle of arrival.
