Method for improved detection of nodules in medical images
Patent No. 10617372

Inventor(s): Tracy J. Stark (Plano, TX)
Assignee(s): UNASSIGNED
Law Firm: Kinney Lange, P.A. (1 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 15659000 on 07/25/2017 (994 days app to issue)

Abstract: Special displays of medical images are generated that help a radiologist better detect nodules by exploiting the inherent human visualization abilities of detection of symmetry, asymmetry, motion and relative motion. A Region of Interest (ROI) on an x-ray (mammogram, CT-scan, MRI, or other medical image) is selected and the data within the ROI is copied such that a new display now has two or more copies of the information within the ROI. This copy may contain the same relative positions as the original image, or may be a mirror image of the original data. The ROI is moved over the medical image in search of nodules. This movement can be random, under the direct control of the radiologist, systematically moved by a computer algorithm, or some combination of the above.

After formation of a blocking dielectric layer, a pair of physically disjoined metal-semiconductor alloy portions are formed in each pair of lateral cavities as floating gate electrodes. A tunneling dielectric layer and a semiconductor channel layer is subsequently formed in each memory opening.

Abstract: A User Equipment (UE) receives control information via a Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) at subframe k. A decoder monitors a set of PDCCH candidates a UE-specific search space, among the search spaces, at each of aggregation levels (L) of 1, 2, 4 and 8 control channel elements (CCEs). The UE-specific search space is given based on a modulus operation using variables Y[subscript]k [/subscript]and C for the subframe k. Y[subscript]k [/subscript]is defined by: Y[subscript]k[/subscript]=(A*Y[subscript]k1[/subscript]+B) mod D. C is determined based on the number of CCEs (N[subscript]CCE[/subscript]) divided by the aggregation level (L). A, B, and D are predetermined constant values regardless of the aggregation levels (L). Y[subscript]1 [/subscript]is determined based on a UE identifier having 16-bits when k=0. The decoder decodes the control information of the PDCCH.
