Abstract: Apparatuses and methods related to command selection policy for electronic memory or storage are described. Commands to a memory controller may be prioritized based on a type of command, a timing of when one command was received relative to another command, a timing of when one command is ready to be issued to a memory device, or some combination of such factors. For instance, a memory controller may employ a first-ready, first-come, first-served (FRFCFS) policy in which certain types of commands (e.g., read commands) are prioritized over other types of commands (e.g., write commands). The policy may employ exceptions to such an FRFCFS policy based on dependencies or relationships among or between commands. An example can include inserting a command into a priority queue based on a category corresponding to respective commands, and iterating through a plurality of priority queues in order of priority to select a command to issue.

Abstract: A methodology and structure for driving a selected wordline to a negative voltage without the need for a negative wordline voltage generator. The methodology includes the step of boosting a non-selected wordline to a first positive voltage. The methodology proceeds with holding a selected wordline, which is adjacent to and capacitively coupled with the non-selected wordline, at zero voltage. The methodology continues with floating the selected wordline. The methodology proceeds with driving the non-selected wordline to a lower voltage to shift the selected wordline to less than zero volts due to capacitance effects. The methodology continues with the step of accelerating charge loss in a defective memory cell connected to the selected wordline while at a negative voltage during a soft erase operation.

Abstract: Program disturb is a condition that includes the unintended programming of a memory cell while performing a programming process for other memory cells. Such unintended programming can cause an error in the data being stored. In some cases, program disturb can result from electrons trapped in the channel being accelerated from one side of a selected word line to another side of the selected word line and redirected into the selected word line. To prevent such program disturb, it is proposed to open the channel from one side of a selected word line to the other side of the selected word line after a sensing operation for program verify and prior to a subsequent programming voltage being applied.

Dynamic resource allocation for sensor devices on a mixed-infrastructure network
Patent No. 10834015
Inventor(s): Venkata S. Amulothu (Plano, TX)
Assignee(s): International Business Machines Corporation (Armonk, NY)
Law Firm: Schmeiser, Olsen Watts (6 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 16585943 on 09/27/2019 (410 days app to issue)
Abstract: A method and associated systems for on-demand bandwidth allocation on a mixed-infrastructure network in response to continuously changing populations of sensor devices. Sensors autonomously add themselves to or delete themselves from sensor clusters available to the network. A physical cluster controller detects each change, identifies resulting changes in a cluster”s bandwidth requirements, and stores this information in a local database. If a sensor-population change satisfies a triggering condition, the controller requests that a network-management component of the network adjust the controller”s bandwidth allocation. The network-management component aggregates this and similar requests from all connected controllers in a global database, and when controller bandwidth requirements satisfy a second triggering condition, the component, using a standard API, asks the network-management component to reprovision the component”s virtual bandwidth allocation. The component then distributes the adjusted bandwidth among its sensor-cluster controllers, which in turn allocate their adjusted bandwidths among their sensor devices.
