However, in situations where the electric motor is unable to provide sufficient negative motor torque to control deceleration, the engine can be connected to the drivetrain in a fuel-cut off mode allowing the engine to generate negative engine torque that can augment the negative motor torque.

Law Firm: Roberts Mlotkowski Safran Cole Calderon, P.C. (2 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 13695851 on 05/03/2011 (2947 days app to issue)

Abstract: Disclosed are improved carpet products made using certain types of coating compositions to secure carpet fibers to a carpet backing or substrates and/or to secure one or more carpet scrims or other layers to carpet backing. The coating compositions, which can be in the form of either precoating or skip coating compositions, are made from latex binder emulsions based on interpolymers emulsion polymerized from vinyl esters, ethylene, and a multifunctional cross-linking co-monomer such as an unsaturated silane. Such emulsions are also stabilized with surfactant emulsifiers but are substantially free of protective colloid stabilizers. The multifunctional co-monomer alters interpolymer molecular weight, branching and/or flow properties such that films formed from such interpolymers exhibit relatively low elongation values. When the emulsion binder exhibits such non-elongating film-forming characteristics, the carpet coating composition made from such binders can be easily processed without build-up on carpet processing apparatus. Such binder emulsions which are stabilized substantially only with surfactant emulsifiers, and not with protective colloids, also have excellent compatibility with other coating composition components.

Law Firm: Moore Van Allen PLLC (6 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 14879215 on 10/09/2015 (1327 days app to issue)

Abstract: The present invention provides copybook flat data conversion with inline transformation. Specifically, a streaming intermediary formatted data message is generated as a result of converting/transforming a flat file format (non-XML (Extensible Markup Language) format), such as raw fixed-length field COBOL (Common Business-Oriented Language) copybook format or the like. The streaming intermediary format is not fully held in memory, but rather is directly transformed/converted, using XSLT (Extensible Stylesheet Language Transformations) processing, into a target format, such as structured XML or the like. By directly streaming the intermediary format to the XSLT process without holding the entire data message in memory, the present invention utilizes less memory and, as such, less memory is needed to be reclaimed.

Abstract: Blind polarization demultiplexing algorithms based on complex independent component analysis (ICA) by negentropy maximization for quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) coherent optical systems are disclosed. The polarization demultiplexing is achieved by maximizing the signal”s non-Gaussianity measured by the information theoretic quantity of negentropy. An adaptive gradient optimization algorithm and a Quasi-Newton algorithm with accelerated convergence are employed to maximize the negentropy. Certain approximate nonlinear functions can be substitutes for the negentropy which is strictly derived from the probability density function (PDF) of the received noisy QAM signal with phase noise, and this reduces the computational complexity. The numerical simulation and experimental results of polarization division multiplexing (PDM)-quadrature phase shift keying (QPSK) and PDM-16QAM reveal that the ICA demultiplexing algorithms are feasible and effective in coherent systems and the simplified ones can also achieve equivalent performance.

The length indicator is indicative of a length of an extension field present in a slice header of the encoded representation. A decoder can then determine to ignore, during decoding of the encoded representation, any value of the extension field in the slice header where these values are identified based on the length indicator. As a consequence, an extension field can be added to slice headers and still enable legacy decoders to correctly decode the encoded representations.

Application No., Date, Speed: 15587995 on 05/05/2017 (753 days app to issue)

Abstract: A light emitting diode system allows for high current end user LED matrix applications while mitigating internal damage to control circuitry that may be caused by excess current flow. In one example, multiple switches operate in parallel across an LED. When an overvoltage condition is detected in a first switch, a logic circuit determines those switches programmed to operate in parallel and causes them to conduct current. This reduces the amount of current flowing through any one switch and mitigates harm to the device. The parallel configuration of switches may be driven by a single pulse width modulated current. This allows the drive current to be divided between parallel transistors, limiting the damaging effects that can be caused by high currents flowing through the transistors.
