Compass Datacenters’ CIO Wins Infrastructure Masons Luminary Award

Nancy Novak received the iMasons Luminary Award at an international event in Monaco in April. The award is given to individuals who exemplify iMasons' values and who have made significant, lasting contributions to the digital infrastructure industry. Recipients are also inducted into the iMason Hall of Fame.

Nancy Novak, chief innovation officer at Dallas-based Compass Datacenters, has received the prestigious Infrastructure Masons Luminary Award, the company announced.

iMasons is a global, nonprofit, professional association of individuals motivated to build a better-connected world. The group’s impact spans continents, and the commitment to global connectivity was on display when Novak received an award in Monaco during the 2023 Datacloud Global Congress held in April.

“Nancy’s legacy will be her vision for using new methods and technology to advance construction efficiency and her relentless efforts to create new opportunities for women in STEM-related industries,” Compass Datacenters founder and CEO Chris Crosby said in a statement.

The Luminary Awards are given to individuals who exemplify iMasons’ values and who have made significant, lasting contributions to the digital infrastructure industry, the company said. Recipients also are inducted into the iMason Hall of Fame.

Novak was nominated by Salute Mission Critical, a global data center services company that recruits and trains veterans to deploy, manage, secure and decommission data centers.

“I’m honored my nomination of Nancy was approved because Nancy’s story is what the award is all about,” Lee Kirby, co-founder and chairman of Salute Mission Critical, said in a statement. “Nancy’s leadership and passion drives results and inspires others to do the same.”

Passionate about ‘Eliminating the Digital Divide’

“It’s a tremendous honor to receive this award and to be inducted into the iMason’s Hall of Fame alongside prior winners who have done so much to connect people around the world,” Novak said in a statement. “I’m proud to be a member of iMasons and to work with so many people who are as passionate as I am about critical issues such as diversity, sustainability, eliminating the Digital Divide, and supporting young people in pursuing STEM careers.”

Compass Datacenters said it provides the world’s technology leaders a secure place to plug in wherever they grow.

The company offers custom, move-in ready data centers from edge deployments to core facilities serving hyperscale, cloud, and enterprise customers.

Compass said that since its beginning, it has embraced sustainability with the efficient use of land, green energy, water-free cooling and building materials.
