Wells Fargo Advisors Is Leasing an Office in the Newest High Rise at The Star in Frisco

A California-based Wells Fargo subsidiary, Wells Fargo Advisors, is leasing an 18,603-square-foot office in the newest high-rise at The Star development in Frisco. According to a report by Steve Brown in the Dallas Morning News, Wells Fargo plans to start work in March on its offices at 17 Cowboys Way in the $1.5 billion development, with work slated to be completed by the fall.

Texas Governor Gives Agencies Deadline to Implement Plan Banning TikTok

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has put state agencies on the clock to implement policies that would prohibit the downloading or use of apps such as TikTok on state-owned devices. Abbott announced the statewide model security plan Monday for Texas state agencies to address vulnerabilities presented by the use of TikTok and other software on personal and state-issued devices. Each state agency will have until February 15 to implement its own policy to enforce this statewide plan. “The security risks associated with the use of TikTok on devices used to conduct the important business of our state must not be underestimated or ignored,” Abbott said.

Fort Worth May Spend $95M on Convention Center and Surrounding District

Two months after selecting AECOM Hunt, Byrne Construction Services, and EJ Smith to manage “the full scope” of phase one of a major expansion of the Fort Worth Convention Center, the city's plans for the area could be getting even bigger. An advisory committee of community stakeholders and project team representatives recently recommended that the city council spend an additional $43 million to realign Commerce Street, allowing for the development of a Convention Center District that could feature "a dynamic urban design mix of new shops, restaurants, and other experiences," the city said.
