City of Garland to Celebrate New Mural and Major Renovations at Valoris Health Park

A major redevelopment is underway in Garland's Medical District for Veteran Affairs—also known as Valoris Health Park—located adjacent to the Garland VA Medical Center. The renovations aim to fulfill the city’s plans for "a full-service medical district for its veterans and citizens." On Tuesday, February 28, from 3 to 5 p.m., the city will hold a mural reveal celebration and ribbon cutting to mark progress on one of the buildings in the Valoris Health Park. The 3,600-square-foot mural at 601 Clara Barton Blvd. is by Dallas artist and musician Haylee Ryan.

The downtown Dallas skyline and Klyde Warren Park offer striking views. And a new 30-story high-rise planned by Dallas-based developer KDC is set to take stunning advantage of them. KDC's $200 million Parkside Uptown is slated for a mid-year groundbreaking, according to state filings cited by the Dallas Morning News. To be located at the corner of N. Harwood Street and Woodall Rodgers Freeway across from the park, the podium-style building is designed to be "an exceedingly modern workplace," with ground-floor retail and restaurants. It could eventually be joined by a phase two building next door with similarly striking architecture.

Hong Kong-based Rosewood Hotels & Resorts—former owner of the iconic Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek—plans to build a 17-story standalone residential development as a nearby neighbor: Rosewood Residences Turtle Creek.  The new 17-story tower, which Rosewood says "combines Beaux-arts inspired elegance with a wealth of outstanding amenities," will feature around 46 residences. It's being developed by One Turtle Creek, a partnership of USA Infrastructure Investments and SVAG, and is scheduled for completion in early 2025.
