Carrollton-based health-care startup Dynofit has been selected as one of 12 companies from across the country for Season 3 of Gimlet Media’s podcast series, The Pitch.
Hosted by Josh Muccio, The Pitch is a show during which entrepreneurs pitch their companies to investors. Dynofit CEO Maria Schneider will travel this fall to New York to join other CEOs in a two-day session for the podcast series.
The Pitch was chosen as one of the 12 best podcasts for entrepreneurs by Forbes in 2015. In each episode, listeners are taken behind closed doors to hear entrepreneurs make their pitches.
Dynofit is the creator of the Flexdot system, which is based on Dynofit’s wireless, wearable sensor that combines with apps and games for tablets and smartphones.
“Our Flexdot system is part of the connected health movement, revolutionizing health care in America.”

By using Flexdot, health-care providers and patients are able to measure the activation of targeted muscles during physical therapy and can track muscle strength and set measurable goals, according to the company.
“Our Flexdot system is part of the connected health movement, revolutionizing health care in America,” Schneider said in a release. “We measure and deliver muscle activation data to smart phones anytime, anywhere. This will change the way physical therapy is delivered.”
Schneider said participating in The Pitch provides Dynofit with an opportunity to reach a “broader audience worldwide with our message of patient connection and empowerment.”
Dynofit is a client of the TechFW business incubator and is a 2015 graduate of the Health Wildcatters health-care incubator in Dallas.
In May, Dynofit beat 13 other health-care startups nationwide to win the Health Wildcatters’ Health Innovation Pitch Competition at the 10th Annual Healthcare Dealmakers Conference.
Flexdots are available through health-care providers as well as physical and occupational therapists.
Season 3 episodes of The Pitch will be released in the fall on iTunes or on the program’s website.
