Are you interested in photography, editorial, marketing, and social media?

Dallas Innovates is looking for students with talent, drive, and an entrepreneurial spirit who want to pursue a career in media. Our interns gain valuable hands-on experience in all facets of the business, working side by side with award-winning professionals.

Dallas Innovates is a new media platform that covers what’s new, next, and reimagined in Dallas-Fort Worth. We cover a wide range of topics including unique things happening in the creative community, education, social enterprises/nonprofits, research, and startup and enterprise businesses. It’s a collaboration of D Magazine Partners and the Dallas Regional Chamber with a collective mission to highlight the region as a hub for innovation.

Our interns gain real-world experience, and your work will likely be published online, printed in one of our magazines (including the new Dallas Innovates annual), or sent out in our e-newsletter. As an intern, you will work closely with our staff and pick up pro tips. Did we mention you get free coffee?

To apply and learn more, visit the D Magazine Partner’s internship webpage — then email us here to put your hat in the Dallas Innovates ring. That’s where you can pitch us on why you would make a great “Dallas Innovator.” The deadline to apply for spring internships is Dec. 1. These highly coveted positions go quickly, so we encourage you to apply early.

CURRENT INTERN JEWELS CLARK GIVES HER TAKE ON WORK EXPERIENCE

Jewels Clark

This is not your run-of-the-mill coffee fetching or fact-checking internship.

Being a Dallas Innovates intern has been one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve ever been a part of. Not only have I expanded my knowledge of writing, photography, and marketing, I have met successful people in all industries from esports to the startup community — people such as Austin Eudaly, Ryan Musselman, and Don McGuire just to name a few.

Talking about successful people, you’re around them all day long. Working in the same office as D Magazine, I’ve met the founder, Chairman and Publisher Wick Allison, as well as people from every department. The atmosphere is brilliant, and everyone in the office is so kind. They really want you to succeed.

Workshops are held specifically so that interns can learn more about other departments and skills in the field. And you’ll never lack opportunities to work with those other departments. I have helped with events such as D Magazine‘s Best Doctors, D Magazine‘s Sunday Tailgate, and D Home‘s Wine Walk

The connections I’ve made make me confident that once I graduate I can find a job — no problem. I feel like my opportunities are endless because of my time at Dallas Innovates.
