Originally from South Florida, the marketing director graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations and a Master of Science in Entrepreneurship.
Bootstrap marketing is her specialty—she has only ever worked at startups or companies with little or no marketing budget. Acton has helped both nonprofit and for-profit companies in b2b as well as b2c. The most prominent client she has done work for (through GRIT Media agency) is Kendra Scott, the jewelry company based in Austin, where she helped build up their online presence. In her last position at a software company, she developed and implemented an SEO strategy that led to a 600 percent increase in organic Google impressions in the first 5 months.
A creative, strategic, and visionary-type thinker, Acton’s core competencies include branding, marketing strategy, digital marketing and web presence, which include but are not limited to logos, web design, social media marketing, SEO, copywriting and messaging. She’s passionate about helping startups find out who they are and helping them bring good into the world.
