Applications Open for 3rd Annual Health Innovation Competition
Chosen startups will get five minutes to pitch to health care venture capital and private equity investors for a chance at $25,000 cash and in kind prizes. The deadline to apply is April 13.

Health Wildcatters is seeking early stage health care startups to pitch in its third annual competition coming up in May 16 during the Healthcare Dealmakers Conference in Dallas.
The Dallas-based seed accelerator and coworking space is focused on helping early stage startups in health care get off the ground. Through its Health Innovation Pitch Competition, chosen startups will get five minutes to pitch to health care venture capital and private equity investors for a chance at $25,000 cash and in kind prizes.
Dallas’ Socrates Health Solutions and its glucose monitoring device won the inaugural competition in 2016. Carrollton-based Dynofit’s wearable Flexdot sensor and smartphone system for physical therapy patients received the prize in 2017.
The deadline to apply for the 2018 competition is April 13.

The noninvasive technology—developed in collaboration with Austin-based Shani Biotechnologies—may enable real-time monitoring of vital blood parameters like hemoglobin, without taking blood samples or using expensive equipment. It could be especially useful for monitoring people of color, helping to close racial disparities in health care diagnostics.
