Allen-headquartered PFSweb, a global commerce services company that manages the online shopping experience for major manufacturers and retailers, has opened a new fulfillment distribution center in the Dallas area.
Now open, the center is set to operate eCommerce fulfillment programs for four companies—one of them being national cult-favorite jewelry brand Kendra Scott.
Austin-based Kendra Scott is best known for its recognizable kaleidoscope-type jewels and customizable Color Bar experience. Founded in 2002 by CEO and designer Kendra Scott—who most recently had a cameo as a guest judge on the newest season of ABC’s “Shark Tank”—the company has since grown into a full-fledged accessories line with sterling silver, home décor, and beauty.
Today, the products can be found online, in Kendra Scott’s more than 100 standalone stores, or at Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s, and specialty boutiques worldwide.
North Texas’ PFS, the operations business unit of PFSweb, now operates two fulfillment operations for the jewelry giant. PFS aims to ensure eCommerce operations run smoothly, especially during the increased capacity that accompanies the holiday season.
“Several PFS clients are now running a multi-node operating model across different regions, and as expected, they are already reaping the benefits as we see increasing volumes early in the season,” Zach Thomann, EVP and general manager of PFS, said in a statement. “I am proud of our PFS team who worked to sign the lease, build out the facility and launch a brand-new Dallas fulfillment operation in less than 90 days for Kendra Scott and other clients.”
The latest news represents an expanded relationship between the two: Last year, PFS launched a direct-to-consumer eCommerce fulfillment solution for Kendra Scott in the U.S, per a news release. At that time, the companies planned to focus mainly on East Coast customers.
This year, Kendra Scott opted to expand its operational footprint with PFS, the company announced. Because of the rising demand from Kendra Scott’s eCommerce channel, PFS wanted to increase the daily output capacity with the addition of another fulfillment node in Dallas.
According to Kendra Scott, PFS was able to quickly open the new distribution center and increase security for its fine jewelry collection. This is all in spite of the continuing COVID-19 pandemic and the challenges that come with it.
“With the uncertainty surrounding brick & mortar retail around the country and the significant increase in eCommerce demand, we felt it was prudent to secure and expand our eCommerce fulfillment operations ahead of the holiday season,” Tom Nolan, president of Kendra Scott, said in a statement. “We are thrilled that our operation in Dallas is now live, and combined with the Memphis-based operation, we feel confident to deliver on our customers’ expectations for years to come.”
Across its two business units, PFSweb provides solutions for a range of Fortune 500 companies and household names.
In addition to PFS, which handles order fulfillment, contacts, payment processing and fraud management, and order management services, there’s LiveArea, PFSweb’s marketing and omnichannel experience design arm. For global companies—like Procter & Gamble, L’Oréal USA, Pandora, Ralph Lauren, the United States Mint, and more—PFSweb helps make the online shopping experience more convenient and brand-centric.
