FINDING SHELTER: AFFORDABILITY SQUEEZE IN A TIGHT TEXAS HOUSING MARKET
Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, 2200 N. Pearl St., in Dallas

PITCH UTA

5-8 p.m.

Join UTA for its annual entrepreneur event, Pitch UTA. Thirty students will have 120 seconds to pitch and sell their original concepts. The top two winners will receive an Interactive SXSW registration and a chance at to compete for a grand prize of $10,000, according to the event page.

SATURDAY, FEB. 24

DMA SPEAKEASY
Dallas Museum of Art, 1717 N. Harwood St., in Dallas
8:00 – midnight

The Dallas Museum of Art invites you to this year’s prohibition-themed Speakeasy. Come join the DMA for a night inspired by the Roaring 20s. There will be live entertainment, dance lessons, prohibition-crafted cocktails, scavenger hunts, a costume contest, and more. Don’t forget to state the secret password upon entry.

ART IN THE DARK
Fort Worth Community Arts Center, 1300 Gendy St., in Fort Worth

Fort Worth Community Arts Center will host the Art in the Dark Exhibition. This exhibition allows North Texas artists to submit and showcase their designs for a chance to win a monetary prize. According to the event page, the artists will utilize light and new media to push the boundaries of their art.

DINNER DIALOGUES: MINORITY WOMEN’S EQUALITY, WAGES + FEMALE LEADERSHIP

DFW GlobalCoWork invites you to join its Dinner Dialogues event to engage in a thought-provoking discussion regarding minority women’s equality as well as female leadership. DFW GlobalCoWork will provide a safe space for guests to share experiences with one another and gain insight on this subject matter. AT THE TABLE: A SYMPOSIUM ON TEXAS WOMEN
Communities Foundation of Texas’ Mabel Peters Caruth Center, 5500 Caruth Haven Lane, in Dallas

A Symposium on Texas Women, hosted by the Texas Tribune, is a discussion forum that will explore the current societal trends on Texas women in the workplace. Speakers, including U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, will discuss a variety of issues in a comfortable, roundtable setting. MONEY-SMART WORKSHOP: PLANNING FOR A HEALTHY BUSINESS

TUESDAY, FEB. 27

THE BRAIN: AN OWNER’S GUIDE: 2018 BRAINHEALTH LECTURE SERIES
Center for BrainHealth, 2200 W. Mockingbird Lane, in Dallas
7-8 p.m.

The Center for BrainHealth continues its monthlong lecture series with best selling author, Shawn Achor. His talk will address the correlation between making others better and the rise of our potential happiness. He will discuss the potential we have to return our happiness to schools, works, and families. This is the final lecture series for February.

Tickets are $50 for the Reception Hall and $60 for the Auditorium.

LOST & FOUND FACTORY
UNT University Union Art Gallery, 1201 W. Mulberry St., in Denton
8 a.m. – midnight

We can all think of a special item that we have lost in our lifetimes. Michelle Illuminato presents an interactive art installation at the Lost & Found Factory to help find our lost items. According to the event page, guests will inform the clerk of a lost item of theirs that they wish to be found. Guests will then watch artists recreate their lost items in an assembly line. At the end of the process, guests will then be able to reclaim their lost items.

ULI NORTH TEXAS FEBRUARY BREAKFAST FORUM: THE INTERNET OF THINGS — THE GOOD, THE BAD, & THE SCARY
