BRANDING THROUGH STORYTELLING & ADDY’S LAUNCH HAPPY HOUR

At the Frisco Fiscal Hackathon, developers will compete to secure contract opportunities from companies wanting either to fix or grow their businesses. Join in on the action as either a developer or a business, and find out all that can be solved in two days time.

THE WORLD IN FLIGHT HACKATHON
The Study Innovation Center, 801 W. Irving Blvd., in Irving
Begins 10 a.m Saturday
The soaring world of how airplane parts are bought and sold is the inspiration for the hackathon being held in partnership with Dallas-based Aviall, a Boeing company. Hackers will vie for $6,000 in total prize money — $3,000 for first, $2,000 for second place, and $1,000 for third.

REIMAGINE RED BIRD POP-UP MARKET
Red Bird Mall, 3502 W. Camp Wisdom Road, in Dallas
1 – 6 p.m.
Red Bird Entrepreneur Center may not be open yet, but that doesn’t mean its leaders can’t offer programming and begin engaging the surrounding neighborhoods. Twenty local entrepreneurs will set up shop temporarily in Red Bird Mall. You can also treat yourself to holiday tunes, games, and meet Santa.

WINTER BREAK CODING CAMP
The Study Innovation Center, 801 W. Irving Blvd., in Irving
Morning sessions run from 9 a.m. – noon and afternoon sessions run from 1 – 4 p.m.
At the Winter Break Coding Camp, your child can learn the fundamentals of coding in a fun, interactive way. With a tool produced by coding professionals from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, campers will be able to tap into their creatives sides as they enter the limitless world of code.
Tickets are $75 for week one and $60 for week two.

CINE DE ORO
Latino Cultural Center, 2600 Live Oak St., in Dallas
10 a.m. – noon
Replete with snacks and refreshments, the Latino Cultural Center will be hosting its monthly screening series Cine de Oro. In addition to the movie, a game similar to Bingo, known as Loteria, will be played.
