WeWork is giving out more than $20 million to entrepreneurs, small businesses, growing companies, nonprofits, artists and more as a part of its upcoming Creator Awards.
The New York-based coworking company, which will soon have three spaces in North Texas, announced the yearlong initiative Thursday. The program is designed to help support ideas from budding businesses across the globe in various stages of growth.

“Millions of creators around the world are nurturing their communities and inspiring others with work fueled by passion and purpose,” WeWork co-founder and CEO Adam Neumann, said in a statement. “Yet, there is no adequate system to recognize, reward, or support the ideas, businesses and organizations driven by creators across all fields and in all stages. We are ready to change that.”
Application and nomination forms opened online Thursday. Candidates don’t have to be WeWork members to be eligible.
Select finalists will be invited to present at one of the seven regional events. From there, regional finalists will be invited to New York City for the Creator Awards Global Finals Nov. 30.
WeWork now has more than 138 locations, and has reached 100,000 members worldwide.
“WeWork began with a group of people that believed community, passion, meaning, and intention could change how we live, work, and connect,” Neumann said. “We could not think of a better way to honor our members and all the creators who inspire us every day.”
