Sanjiv Yajnik believes that the ongoing debate between Science,Technology, Engineering, and Math education and Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math education has come to an end.
It seems that North Texas business leaders and educators attending last week’s CCBA summit have come to a consensus: the STEAM method is more beneficial to workers and students than the STEM method.
Yajnik, president of Capital One’s financial services division in Plano and chairman of Collin County Business Alliance, talked about the methods in an interview with the Dallas Business Journal during the CCBA Summit last week.
“The arts have become a big piece of the revolution that is going on in business. It’s where art and design connects with technology to create new experiences, new businesses and new concepts and new ways of doing things,” Yajnik told the Business Journal.
Adding the arts to STEM would give students and workers the chance to be well-rounded, innovative and easily adaptable, while also developing their skills to survive in the real world.
