Frisco-based Trivie, a training and communication startup that helps companies better engage their workforce in knowledge retention and communication, has closed $5 million in Series A funding to increase distribution of its app.
Trivie said the investment round, led by Cottonwood Venture Partners, will be used to expand its remote learning technology to a variety of national industries, including energy, manufacturing, hospitality, healthcare, and consumer goods. The partnership with Cottonwood Venture Partners will help with that, specifically in the Fortune 1000, according to Trivie CEO and Co-founder Lawrence Schwartz.
“At Trivie, our mission is to ensure that every employee at every organization can be at their very best because they remember what you need them to know,” he said. Trivie uses cognitive science, adaptive learning, and gamification to “close the learning and communications loop.” The intent is to help companies see and measure sustainable results from their training programs.
Trivie said its platform also increases training retention when used just a few times a month, which increases knowledge gains. Plus, corporate communication and employee engagement is boosted through the content, messaging, and survey capabilities.
That’s evermore important in a time of COVID-19. As the need for safety training and remote learning increases—and 62 percent of Americans work from home—Trivie said major companies have turned to its AI-based gamification software. Subway, Anheuser-Busch, and more have wanted to ensure employees will remember and follow guidelines, according to Trivie.
“Effectively implementing this information flow is extremely difficult and even harder to measure, especially in today’s work-from-home environment,” the company said in a statement. “Trivie solves these unique challenges with a 100 percent self-service automated knowledge retention platform that can be deployed in minutes.”
