Venture Dallas Announces 2024 Startup of the Year Awards Finalists, Expands Field to 20 After Record Nominations

Winners will be revealed in a live announcement at the George W. Bush Presidential Center during the Venture Dallas Summit on October 30.

Venture Dallas has revealed the finalists for its 2024 Startup of the Year awards. Thanks to a record-breaking number of nominations, the field has been expanded from six to 10 finalists in each category.

The winners will be announced at the Venture Dallas Summit on October 30 at the George W. Bush Presidential Center, according to David Evans, managing partner at Sentiero Ventures and a Venture Dallas steering committee member. Evans said the group received an “overwhelming response” to its call for nominations in the awards’ second year.

This year’s finalists represent some of North Texas’ most promising startups, ranging from healthcare innovators to tech solutions addressing challenges in education, finance, and artificial intelligence, according to Venture Dallas.

Early Stage Finalists (<$1M Revenue)

Basewell
Basewell provides companies with plug-and-play tools to centralize knowledge, helping teams quickly find information and build expertise. Lumin is transforming the fitness experience with its “fitness studio of the future” that uses AI-driven feedback, motion tracking, projection mapping, and immersive environments. Offering personalized workouts and interactive features, Lumin provides users with a cutting-edge fitness solution that evolves with their progress.

Monument
Monument is a platform designed to streamline self-storage management, helping operators organize and track their spaces more efficiently. By providing real-time data and easy-to-use tools, Monument enhances the operations of self-storage businesses.

What’s Next for the Finalists?

The finalists will be evaluated by a panel of judges from venture firms across Texas, Evans said. 

Before the main event, the finalists can also attend an exclusive VIP reception on October 29, where they can connect with investors and fellow entrepreneurs.
