OpenConnect Inc., a software provider headquartered in Farmers Branch, has been acquired by UK-based ActiveOps Ltd, a global provider of cloud-based digital operations management solutions to financial services, shared services, business process outsourcing firms, government, healthcare and other service industries.
ActiveOps announced Thursday that it had closed on the acquisition. It said the deal will enhance its Workware software suite capabilities with the addition of OpenConnect’s one-of-a-kind data capture technology. No financial terms were released.
“The acquisition of OpenConnect directly reflects our purpose of simplifying the running of operations,” Richard Jeffery, co-founder and CEO of ActiveOps, said in a statement. “Access to accurate, timely data is fundamental to every aspect of managing operations and OpenConnect brings deep expertise in the automated extraction of insight from the complexity of enterprise systems.”
Despite the acquisition of OpenConnect, its DFW site will remain to provide a third office location for ActiveOps in the U.S., along with locations in New York and Charlotte, North Carolina. All of the OpenConnect team is expected to become part of the expanded ActiveOps Group.
OpenConnect’s capabilities complement and deepen ActiveOps’ unique solutions for optimizing how large businesses manage work and capacity across functions and processes of diverse operations, according to Jeffery.
Due to OpenConnect’s process discovery within desktop, mainframe, and virtual desktop environments, ActiveOps customers will receive new operations performance insights and automate data collection activities without dealing with complexities.
The full OpenConnect product set will continue to be supported after the acquisition, and customers will have an adoption route for ActiveOps’ Workware software.
The deal broadens the ActiveOps product range and provides new ways for its customers to optimize the performance of their operations with OpenConnect’s additional technology.
“We’ve worked with ActiveOps in the past and have always seen great synergies between our product sets,” Michael Cupps, SVP of sales and marketing at OpenConnect, said in a statement. “Our combined capabilities add up to a suite of products which fully support those running and transforming operations with insight into past, current, and future performance.”
Funding support for the acquisition was provided by Wells Fargo Capital Finance (UK) Limited, part of Wells Fargo & Co., according to ActiveOps.
