Dreams of flying through Dallas in style are getting a lift this month at the Rotorcraft Business & Technology Summit with Uber and Airbus.

Hosted by Rotor & Wing International, the event will take place Sept. 20-21 at the Omni Fort Worth Hotel.

“The Rotorcraft Business & Technology Summit is the venue for exploring the frontier where advanced technologies meet day-to-day commercial and military helicopter operations and examining the promise of entrepreneurship, passion, and vision to transform vertical flight here and around the world,” Rotor & Wing International Editor-in-Chief James T. McKenna said in a release.

DFW WILL BE TESTING SITE FOR ELEVATE INITIATIVE

Mark Moore, Uber’s director of aviation, is expected to keynote the opening night and will be unveiling Uber’s Elevate aviation initiative.

Uber announced in April that Dallas-Fort Worth would be a testing site by 2020 for the flying vehicle that it is developing.

Moore will be following-up his presentation with a Q&A alongside a panel from Fort Worth-based Bell Helicopter and other Uber partners, according to the release.

Rotorcraft Business & Technology Summit will complete its second day with Airbus’ plan to expand its on-demand helicopter initiative across North America, the release said. Other event topics will include helicopter safety, commercial use of drones, and advanced verticle flight potential.

Airbus Helicopters is based in Grand Prairie.
