In 2026, AT&T Stadium will host nine FIFA World Cup matches, including a globally watched semi-final—more than any of the other 15 host venues in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. A stunning 3.4 million spectators attended the 2022 World Cup matches in Qatar. Now Lewis is tasked with making sure arrivals and departures go smoothly in 2026 at Dallas Love Field Airport, Dallas Executive Airport, and the Vertiport in downtown Dallas.

“We’re looking at the technologies and seeing how we can help people get in and out using AI to make it as seamless and advanced as possible,” Lewis said in an interview with Capital Analytics Associates’ Invest:. “We’re also looking at touchless check-ins among other things, as they are more efficient.”

In the interview, Lewis also spoke about working with U.S. Customs and Border Protection to help accommodate international travelers to the 2026 World Cup matches in Arlington.

Beyond the World Cup, Lewis also talked about Love Field receiving Level Four Transformation in the Airport Carbon Accreditation, being ranked the #1 Kid-Friendly Airport, and an array of other initiatives Dallas Airport System is advancing.
