A vacant storefront across from Neiman Marcus is now the home of a 2,000-square-foot modernist mural filled with explosions of color and expressive glyphs, transforming the heart of the city, thanks to a team-up of artist Dora Reynosa, FGIII Fine Art Productions, and Downtown Dallas Inc.

Reynosa, known artistically as Zeneth, also contributed to the Deep Ellum Blues Alley Project as part of the latest group of talented artists chosen for the initiative.

The muralist was born and raised in Acuña, Coahuila, Mexico, before moving to Dallas.

Since becoming a full-time artist in 2020, Reynosa’s vibrant art works have been featured at flagship McDonald’s restaurants, on 48 unique NCAA basketballs, as well as by Toyota, the Mexican National Soccer League, Dallas Auction Gallery, and the Nasher Sculpture Center

In a video posted by DDI, Reynosa says her work “is about being knocked down and still getting up.”

“I’ve always been told my by my dad that I have the blood of a champion and even if I get knocked down, the champion doesn’t know the word surrender,” she says. “And [the champion] always gets up.

Talking about her new downtown mural, she says, “It’s always been a dream of mine to work with bigger canvases. So this was the perfect opportunity to really showcase the fact that I’m able to work at a bigger scale with my architectural background. The colors are very vibrant, but also the shapes have a lot of movement.”

The artist calls having her work showcased in the heart of Dallas “a dream come true.”

“I love the city,” she said. “It’s really beautiful to…really give back to my city and provide our audience here in downtown Dallas with this vibrant and energetic mural.”
