Progressive Water Treatment, a division of the fintech Water on Demand Inc., has opened a new 21,500-square-foot headquarters in Sherman that features a light manufacturing facility for water treatment equipment, a warehouse that expands in-stock filtration & pump inventory, and the ability to provide more rapid delivery to its customers.
The company’s HQ had previously been located in McKinney.
“Progressive Water Treatment has been growing its footprint in Texas for 25 years now, and we’re eager to continue that success with a new, state-of-the-art facility in Sherman,” Tom Marchesello, COO of PWT’s parent company OriginClear, said in a statement. “We’re thrilled to have headquarters which will allow us to respond even more rapidly to customer demand and ramp up our production in a safe and sustainable way. We’re also delighted to join the bustling technology community in the North Dallas area.”
A grand opening ceremony for the new HQ will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Oct. 8, at 5225 W Houston in Sherman.
Featuring two lines for manufacturing and improved logistics
The company said its new facility will feature two lines for manufacturing as opposed to one, along with a more-open floor plan and improved logistics.
Progressive Water Treatment has 25 employees and will be actively hiring 10 additional staff members to fill open roles, including skilled workers, engineers, a design draftsman, a salesman, a PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) & controls software technician, mechanical technicians, and welders, the company said.
“We chose to move the PWT location to Sherman because of what the area has to offer. It’s one of the most sought-after locations for industrial manufacturing and also has access to major trucking routes, rail systems, and air freight,” OriginClear CEO Riggs Eckelberry said in a statement. “We look forward to providing world-class services to our local customers, and specifically to those within a three-hour drive, who will now be able to request next-day delivery.”
Clean water is ‘going private’
PWT and Water on Demand said that while clean water had once been a government monopoly, it’s now “going private.”
Local industries and communities are now treating and recycling their own water, helping to reduce the burden on municipal systems and save on fast-rising water rates while also responding to the challenge of climate change, which is good for business and good for sustainability, the company said.
Water On Demand said it’s enabling clean water to become an “investable asset, open to main street investors, with the potential for generational royalties.”
In 2023, OriginClear contributed its Modular Water Systems division to give Water On Demand the downsized technology that businesses need for on-site water treatment and recycling. Later that year, OriginClear tagged Progressive Water Treatment, a 25-year veteran engineered solutions subsidiary then based in McKinney, with adding the ability to execute on larger and more prestigious installations.
OriginClear is “the Clean Water Innovation Hub,” PWT said, dedicated to launching new ventures such as Water On Demand and Modular Water Systems — a provider of onsite, prefabricated systems made with sophisticated materials that can last decades.
Another OriginClear subsidiary acquired in 2015, Progressive Water Treatment helped achieve a companywide increase of 250% in revenues from 2021 to 2022, and now has merged with Water On Demand and Modular Water Systems in a combination known as Water On Demand Inc.
