Texas Energy Fund Backs New Sherman Power Plant With $411M Loan

The 570-megawatt natural gas plant is the latest project backed by the Texas Energy Fund to add dispatchable power to the ERCOT region. The loan to Rockwall-based Rayburn Electric Cooperative is the seventh issued through the state’s In-ERCOT Generation Loan Program.

“This project is another step toward keeping our grid strong and our economy the envy of the world,” Gov. Greg Abbott said.
