TIME’s 2025 covers feature star power—with Ryan Reynolds of Maximum Effort and Waymo’s co-CEOs front and center. But the list also includes standout innovation coming straight out of Dallas.
While TIME put Maximum Effort and Waymo on its 2025 worldwide covers, Dallas future-shaping companies are in the mix. Two are Dallas-based. Another Texas company—now a $2B brand—got its start here, too.
Dallas-based Brinker International saw its stock (NYSE: EAT) jump 16% last Wednesday. One big reason: Its Chili's Grill & Bar casual dining chain posted a Q4 sales jump of 31% for restaurants open at least a year. That marked the brand's third straight quarter of double-digit sales growth—with a 20% boost in foot traffic, not higher prices, contributed to the Q4 leap.
After 30 years as a globe-trotting fashion designer, Rockmore went viral on TikTok in 2021, amassing over 2 million followers. Now the Dallas-based influencer is out with her own capsule summer collection of "three essential styles" in "delicious colors" at "an accessible price." Oh—and she has a two-story closet.
Dave's Gourmet is known for its super hot Dave's Insanity Sauce, created by Founder Dave Hirshkop (AKA the “Brigadier of Burn”). Now, after getting a strategic investment from Gourmerica Inc. in 2021—along with a new president, David Neuman—Dave's is in the pink. Literally.
The company waded knee-deep into one of the biggest TikTok memes of the summer—'Pink Sauce,' a much-parodied creation from Miami influencer Chef Pii—by partnering to give it an official international CPG launch.
The charitable foundation of Dallas Mavericks owner and serial entrepreneur Mark Cuban—is teaming up with local tech firms to launch its free AI Bootcamps for high school students across North Texas and beyond.
“These young leaders can now participate in the conversation around how AI should be developed and used,” Cuban has said. “We’re giving them a seat at the table.”
On NBC’s TODAY on Friday, the IF/THEN Initiative unveiled a new ad campaign in collaboration with the social impact nonprofit Ad Council that’s set to air on Super Bowl Sunday.
The Dallas-based nonprofit is also taking its 3D-printed statues to the Smithsonian Museum.
Some insights: TikTok is the world's fastest-growing brand; tech is the most valuable industry at $1.3 trillion; retail continues to thrive with Walmart jumping up a spot; the pharma sector showed faster growth over the last two years than any other; and the U.S. and China continue to dominate.
We spoke with the managing director of the company's Dallas Americas HQ about his firm's Texas business and plans for U.S. growth.
