Dallas TikTok Star Carla Rockmore Launches Summer Staples Capsule Collection

After 30 years as a globe-trotting fashion designer, Rockmore went viral on TikTok in 2021, amassing over 2 million followers. Now the Dallas-based influencer is out with her own capsule summer collection of "three essential styles" in "delicious colors" at "an accessible price." Oh—and she has a two-story closet.

Quebec-born Carla Rockmore spent a globe-trotting 30 years designing clothing and accessories before she went viral on TikTok in 2021, amassing over 2 million followers. Now living in Dallas, the influencer is known for her eclectic looks and styling tricks, not to mention her stylishly confident embrace of her age and identity. As you can see in the “Carla collage” above, her personality and creations are all over the place—and starting today, they’re ready for summer.

After years of being asked by her followers to release her own collection, the social media star has announced the launch of her new Summer Staples Capsule Collection,

The collection includes three versatile shirt and shirt dress pieces designed by Rockmore, including the Essential Fitted Shirt, the Day-to-Day Applique Shirt, and the Everyday Everywhere Shirt Dress. They’re available in various colors, priced from $79 to $119

“My followers are always asking my advice on how to style wardrobe staples for different occasions, so that is what inspired me to release this capsule collection,” Rockmore said in a statement. “When I began designing it, I had one goal: to share with my community the essential classic pieces that anchor my wardrobe.”

“These are the shapes and silhouettes I lean into time and time again,” she said of her summer line. “These three essential styles are made of high-quality, 100% cotton poplin, in delicious colors anyone can wear, and are available at an accessible price. The pieces are meant to serve as a canvas which you can adorn with your own personal style.”

Making the social media—and media media—rounds

In the very definition of viral, Rockmore has gained followers on not just TikTok but Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook—leading to appearances on “The TODAY Show” and “Access Hollywood” and earning her the No. 53 spot on People Magazine’s “100 Reasons to Love America in 2022.” All of which, in turn, led to more followers on TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.

Her long, winding trip to Dallas—and her ‘two-story closet’

Rockmore’s fashion career included stints in Amsterdam, Toronto, and Montreal before she and her husband, Michael Stitt, relocated to Dallas for his job in 2012, bringing their two children along for the ride, Texas Monthly reported.

Like countless North Texans, travel restrictions put her business on hold at the beginning of the pandemic. That’s when she began sharing her fashion expertise and signature styling tips on social media, sparking inspiration and relatability among followers of all ages.

But if you feel any jealousy of where her work and talent have gotten her, you need know only this: She has a two-story closet, and Texas Monthly took a deep dive into it last fall.

Her eponymous jewelry collection launched earlier this year

The new summer capsule collection follows up on Rockmore’s eponymous jewelry collection, which she launched earlier this year, “with many styles selling out within days,” according to the designer. She had earlier launched a fine jewelry line with Stanley Korshak, according to D Magazine, and has previously launched capsule collections on Amazon’s The Drop.

So what does a famous fashion influencer wear when she’s out and about herself?

“I don’t like to box myself in,” Rockmore told D. “I’ll wear Jil Sander Austerity today, and tomorrow go into full on Vivienne Westwood. I don’t bother myself too much with ‘oh, but is that my style?’ I wear what resonates with me in the moment and in the day.”

Rockmore’s first clothing capsule collection is available to shop exclusively on her website at www.carlarockmore.com.
