The Richardson-based foundation has provided $330,000 in 2024-2025 grants to enhance the quality of life for children and families in vulnerable communities. The grantees include five nonprofits in Dallas.
Santander said the grants represent the latest step in the foundation’s longstanding commitment to investing in Dallas and helping the most vulnerable in local communities across the nation "to learn, grow, and prosper."
The foundation said the grants will be used to improve the well-being of children and families living in vulnerable communities by implementing initiatives focused on access to healthy food, exercise, and nutritional education.
Awarded to 101 community-based organizations across the state—including many in North Texas—the Blue Impact grants focus on health care access and target impacts of socio-economic and social determinants of health.

The fund, launched in late 2021, seeks to address the ongoing disparities that directly impact Dallas’ Black and Hispanic residents.

The Dallas Foundation—the first community foundation in Texas—says it awarded over $1.3 million in Community Impact Fund Grants in 2021. The grants were given to 25 local organizations and initiatives that are "driving meaningful results for children and families."
"Each of these awards represents an investment in some of Dallas’ most important needs and most impactful organizations," said Matthew Randazzo, the foundation's president and CEO.
In addition to the surprise reveal of a new $1 million prize, United Way of Metropolitan Dallas also announced the nine fellows picked for its 2021 accelerator and a social impact investment in on-demand nail service Cherry (created by the founders of rewardStyle and Bumble).
Five fellows from United Way of Metropolitan Dallas' Social Innovation Accelerator will present their ideas in health, income, or education for the chance at $235,000 in funding. Tickets are on sale now for the all-virtual event on Oct. 28.
