The grant from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute will fund a first-in-human Phase 1 clinical trial of a new generation of immunotherapies. This is the fourth NIH grant AyuVis has received since its founding in 2014, doubling total non-dilutive funding to $4.2 million. Co-Founder and CEO Dr. Suchismita Acharya calls the move to a human trial "a huge milestone for AyuVis."

Held mostly in Fort Worth but also in cities across DFW, GEW North Texas will feature everything from a kickoff party to an "urban farm crawl" to fireside chats, pitch competitions, revealing sessions, and a wrap party. Along the way, you can learn how to access capital; how to go global; how to master cybersecurity; how to leverage free e-commerce tools; how to start up from scratch with a branded website; and much more.
It's just part of what's happening simultaneously worldwide during Global Entrepreneurship Week, with 40,000 activities planned in nearly 200 countries.

AyuVis, an immunotherapy startup, is set to get a $1.8 million Small Business Innovation Research grant from the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development. Founder Suchismita Acharya calls the timing "perfect."
Fort Worth-based AyuVis just received its second patent in three months for its immunotherapy treatments that protect pre-term babies from a debilitating chronic lung disease that affects many pre-term infants on ventilators.
The startup's lead drug candidate—AVR-48—is scheduled for clinical trials this summer.

Eight female founders have been chosen to participate in one of two TechFW programs, ThinkLab or SmartStart. And, Texas Woman’s University - Center for Women Entrepreneurs has designated $1,000 and $2,000 awards to boost each woman's involvement.
