Deep Ellum Community Center To Host ‘Tunnel Visions 3.0’ Exhibit

The center said visitors to the exhibit at the community center will be "transported through time" as they physically walk through a replica tunnel showcasing photos of murals that once appeared on the walls of the Good-Latimer tunnel, the gateway to Deep Ellum from the Dallas Arts District.

City of Garland to Celebrate New Mural and Major Renovations at Valoris Health Park

A major redevelopment is underway in Garland's Medical District for Veteran Affairs—also known as Valoris Health Park—located adjacent to the Garland VA Medical Center. The renovations aim to fulfill the city’s plans for "a full-service medical district for its veterans and citizens." On Tuesday, February 28, from 3 to 5 p.m., the city will hold a mural reveal celebration and ribbon cutting to mark progress on one of the buildings in the Valoris Health Park. The 3,600-square-foot mural at 601 Clara Barton Blvd. is by Dallas artist and musician Haylee Ryan.

Wrap ads on DART buses and trains will help spread the word, and newly painted murals in two Dallas communities aim to help, too. "Through this proclamation, we are acknowledging that hate is real. But so is love," Mayor Johnson said.
