Illinois’ RJW Logistics Group Opens Its Second Large Warehouse Facility in Mesquite

With RJW's second Mesquite facility providing around 200 new jobs, the company's total retail logistics footprint exceeds 7 million square feet spanning 11 warehouses in Chicago and two in Mesquite. "Creating jobs for Dallas-area workers is a priority for us, and we're enthusiastic about helping the local community thrive," CEO Kevin WIlliamson told Dallas Innovates.

Set to break ground in March northeast of Dallas, the Lakeview Business District is a development of Jackson-Shaw, a national real estate development company headquartered in North Texas. The 165-acre business park will be built in two phases, beginning with five modern "state-of-the-art" spaces that will total over a million square feet.

With 90,739 acres of vacant land, Dallas led all 20 of the most populous urban centers in the U.S. for having the most vacant land available. That's according to a report from CommercialCafe, a commercial real estate internet listing service. Fort Worth came in No. 2 with 90,739 acres of vacant land. Four of the top 5 cities on the list are in the Texas Triangle, with San Antonio at No. 4 and Houston at No. 5.

According to the latest MSCI Inc. estimate, more than $42.5 billion in commercial properties were sold in DFW in 2022. North Texas “wrested the top slot from Manhattan at the onset of the pandemic and has held it ever since,” MSCI analysts said in the report.
Dallas-based CBRE was the top-ranked firm for commercial real estate investment sales nationally in 2022—for the 17th straight year.
