The Last Word: Carnegie Medal Recipient Lyda Hill on Why More Women Are Needed in Science and Medicine

In a ceremony Thursday night in New York City, Hill received a 2022 Carnegie Medal of Philanthropy along with fellow recipients Dolly Parton, Manu Chandaria, and Lynn and Stacy Schusterman. Dallas Innovates wrote about Hill's honor back in August. She was recognized by the Carnegie Medal for supporting women in STEM fields and inspiring girls to be interested in STEM careers, in addition to being recognized for investments in the life sciences, including cancer and mental health research and treatment; conservation; and empowering community-based nonprofits to maximize impact, the organization said.

Lyda Hill Philanthropies’ IF/THEN Initiative Officially Opens All-Female Exhibit at NorthPark

Following a temporary tour brought on by a COVID delay, the most statues of women ever assembled in one location at one time has finally been unveiled at NorthPark Center. It's a culmination of Lyda Hill Philanthropies' work with the IF/THEN Initiative to create a cultural shift in how the world perceives women in STEM.

COVID-19 delayed the opening of a 3D-printed display from Lyda Hill Philanthropies IF/THEN Initiative of the most statues of women ever assembled. Starting Sept. 10, the exhibit is instead doing a pop-up near Macy’s Court.
