UT Dallas to Host Mark Cuban Foundation’s Free AI Bootcamp for High School Students

The AI Bootcamp will target underserved high school students in the ninth through 12th grades and will introduce them to basic AI concepts and skills, the foundation said. Students will learn what AI is and is not, where they already interact with AI in their own lives, and the ethical implications of AI systems including but not limited to TikTok recommendations, smart home assistants, facial recognition, and self-driving cars, among others.

I distinctly remember telling myself, ‘There has to be another way.’" Tatum told D CEO. Today his company can build a home in eight to 16 weeks, and do it more sustainably, he says, with a forecast of over $50 million in revenue this year.

The charitable foundation of Dallas Mavericks owner and serial entrepreneur Mark Cuban—is teaming up with local tech firms to launch its free AI Bootcamps for high school students across North Texas and beyond.

“These young leaders can now participate in the conversation around how AI should be developed and used,” Cuban has said. “We’re giving them a seat at the table.”

In its second year, the initiative brought tech programming to 42 underserved DFW students through three virtual sessions. It plans to host another round of AI Bootcamps in Dallas, El Paso, Omaha, Chicago, and Green Bay later this year.
