The DataBank Employee Ownership Program "has the potential to generate a meaningful wealth-building opportunity" by providing a one-time bonus of up to 12 months compensation in addition to an employee's regular salary and benefits, the company said.
DataBank—a data center company providing edge colocation, interconnection, and managed services—said the new funding resulted from "excess investor interest" in its recent $2 billion primary equity round. Total debt and equity raised by DataBank in the past 18 months: nearly $5 billion.
DataBank—which recently announced a planned 480MW data center campus south of Dallas—said the capital raise was oversubscribed and, in addition to the $1.5 billion from AustralianSuper, included another $483 million in commitments from "existing investors."
DataBank is building a 480MW data center campus in Red Oak, its third new campus announced in the past 12 months. Construction is underway, with the first phase set to be operational by the second quarter of 2026, aimed at meeting the growing demand from A.I. and cloud applications.
The Dallas-based company said the financing consists of two separate transactions: $188 million in equity raised from existing and new investors, and a $345 million construction loan for a new data center under development in the Atlanta market.

Combined, DataBank said the 7 expanded colocation facilities—which serve as "major interconnect hubs"—have added 15-plus megawatts of power and 114,000 raised square feet of floor space during the past 12 months to their existing capacities.
