Texas A&M, Last Energy to Launch Microreactor Pilot at RELLIS as Texas Power Demand Climbs

The pilot will test Last Energy’s 5-megawatt PWR-5 design at Texas A&M–RELLIS while the company advances a plan for 30 commercial microreactors in Haskell County northwest of Dallas-Fort Worth to serve data center growth.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai was in North Texas on Friday to announce the tech giant’s largest investment in a single state. The multiyear plan will add three Texas data center campuses, increase energy supply to the state’s grid, and train 1,700 electricians as the AI economy scales.
