Industry expert Jason Carolan has joined North Texas-based Centersquare, a data center provider with colocation facilities in markets across North America and the United Kingdom, as chief development officer.
“It’s an exciting time to join Centersquare and help drive the next strategic phase,” Carolan said in an announcement in late April. The new CDO oversees portfolio growth and customer enablement strategies at the company.
Centersquare is the rebranded name of Dallas-based Evoque and Florida-based Cyxtera, which Evoque acquired in January 2024. The combined company adopted its Centersquare branding in April 2024.
Centersquare CEO Spencer Mullee said Carolen brings proven growth strategies and technical expertise to the company—experience that aligns with the company’s focus on delivering reliable data centers and customer service.
Carolan brings more than 25 years of experience in data center infrastructure, cloud, and network services, the company noted.
Before joining Centersquare, the new CDO served as chief innovation officer at Flexential and as chief technology officer at ViaWest.
He was recognized as a Distinguished Engineer at Sun Microsystems/Oracle and held leadership positions at VMware and the Mayo Clinic, Centersquare said. He also is lead author of Building N1 Grid Solutions and holds several patents in orchestration, networking, and security.
Accelerating borderless AI innovation
Last fall, Centersquare announced a partnership with U.K.-based Stelia in October 2024 to accelerate enterprise AI capabilities through AI-native data mobility and global data center capacity. The strategic alliance aims to combine Stelia’s AI ecosystem orchestration with Centersquare’s infrastructure.
“In a world where AI is the new magic …we’re transforming data mobility into AI superiority, empowering enterprises to get an unfair advantage in the AI-driven future,” Stelia CEO Tobias Hooton said at the time.
Headquartered in Coppell, Centersquare has a footprint of 72 data center locations in key markets including Dallas, Los Angeles, New York, London and Toronto. By the numbers, that’s about 1.9 million square feet of space, 400 MW of power and more than 50,000 cross-connects for the colocation and data center services provider.
