Zoo To Do is a major source of funding for the nonprofit Dallas Zoo. Proceeds help support the Zoo’s dedication to providing the best animal care, delivering unique education offerings, and strengthening its wildlife conservation efforts in Dallas and around the world.

How do we radically shape the future? In November, the Laura Bush-founded Texan by Nature hosted a conservation summit to tackle the topic. CEO Joni Carswell urged an audience of innovators, collaborators, and changemakers to “Ask yourself ‘what if?’ Do something different and new and more.”

$12 million will go toward building The Loop's Trinity Forest Spine Trail South Phase; $8.218 million will enhance mobility within the Southern Dallas County Inland Port, including the purchase of eight on-demand electric shuttles; and $900,000 will help connect communities across the Southern Gateway, from Oak Cliff to the forthcoming I-35 deck park to the Dallas Zoo and the Tenth Street Historic District.

Southern Gateway Park will be an engineering marvel over I-35E, with five acres of wooded slopes, water features, rocky escarpments, a restaurant/retail complex hidden under a hilltop, and one of the most awesome kids' playgrounds in North Texas. But its greatest achievement may be to make Oak Cliff whole again—and to bring all of Dallas together.

Kimberly-Clark ‘RightCycles’ a Giraffe’s Worth of Nitrile Gloves from Dallas Zoo

The zoo estimates it's diverted over 1,000 pounds of nitrile gloves from landfills since 2018. The gloves are shipped out, recycled, and made into eco-responsible planters, chairs, and shelves.
