Anime Frontier Festival Coming to Fort Worth This Weekend

The Panther City is where "Japan meets the West" this weekend, in a three-day, third-annual festival celebrating the fantastical worlds of anime and manga. Some 20,000 Japanese pop culture fans are expected to see and be seen at the Tarrant County Convention Center amid a lineup of DJs, VTuber sensations, manga maestros, and more.

Sony finalized its nearly $1.2 billion acquisition of anime platform Crunchyroll from Dallas-based AT&T last August. Now, with Crunchyroll's production hub in DFW, it's named a new chief people officer to help guide the company on its "next phase of growth."
“We want to provide our fans with anime when, where, and how they want to enjoy it,” new exec Barb Bidan told Dallas Innovates.
