With a new CEO at the helm, an Addison-based tech company is creating new leadership roles as it eyes continued growth.
Bottle Rocket, an experiential app maker, announced three promotions to newly created leadership positions that it said will help it drive innovation and grow its client base.
“We have the right front line that drives awareness of our services and capabilities to the market, we are strong at serving our clients and providing the utmost value throughout our partnership, and we have an always-on focus on our people and recruiting our next wave of Rocketeers,” said Rajesh Midha, Bottle Rocket CEO, in a statement.
The marketplace is highly competitive, says Midha. Each of the leaders has a proven track record of success and is committed “to finding new and innovative ways to compete.”
Meet the ‘Rocketeers’
Taking on the role of SVP of marketing is Jana Boone, who joined the company in 2017 as its director of marketing, following a stint as the director of business development at Publicis Hawkeye. Moving into the role of vice president of people is Sandeepa Vemireddy, a former SQA engineer at Texas Instruments, who joined Bottle Rocket in 2011 as a quality assurance and software tester. Bottle Rocket also tapped Andrew Sevin, a member of the Dallas Regional Chamber’s Innovation Task Force, who joined Bottle Rocket in 2017, as its senior VP of business development.
CEO switch
The leadership moves come after Bottle Rocket began the year with a new CEO. Founder and former top executive Calvin Carter stepped down from the CEO role in January. He is now working on a new, stealthy venture called Talon Labs. Taking over Carter’s position as CEO is Midha, who joined Bottle Rocket in 2020 as its chief strategy and operating officer. A former chief product office for mental health care company Quartet Health, Midha also serves as the president of Ogilvy Experience.
Bottle Rocket, which was launched in 2008 coinciding with the creation of Apple’s app store, was acquired by Ogilvy’s London-based parent company WPP for an undisclosed amount in 2013. With a “work-from-wherever” policy implemented in 2020, Bottle Rocket has grown to a team of more than 250 employees and has seen more than $100 billion in transactions on experiences it has developed.
“We must capitalize on our strong culture and experience and strive every day to create a place where Rocketeers can be challenged and fulfilled, and a platform for growth and partnership for clients,” Sevin said in a statement.
