Termite detection and mitigation system
Patent No. 12167726
Inventor(s): Bradly Jay Billman (Celina, TX)
Assignee(s): United Services Automobile Association (USAA) (San Antonio, TX)
Law Firm: Perkins Coie LLP (17 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 17887369 on 08/12/2022 (858 days app to issue)
Abstract: A termite detection and mitigation system can gather data describing conditions at a location, including the location’’s elevation, soil type, topography, weather conditions, and season. The termite detection and mitigation system can additionally obtain sensor data describing environmental conditions within a structure (e.g., a home or other building) at the location. Sensor data may be obtained using a termite sensing device placed within the structure. The termite detection and mitigation system can develop models that characterize how likely it is that termites are present within a structure based on its sensor data and associated location data. Using the models, the termite detection and mitigation system can alert users when there is a likelihood that termites are present. The termite detection and mitigation system can also deploy mitigation responses, such as poisons or sealants, to mitigate the termite intrusion.

Patent No. 12168401
Inventor(s): Aravind Samba Murthy (Atlanta, GA), David Patrick Magee (Allen, TX)
Assignee(s): Texas Instruments Incorporated (Dallas, TX)
Law Firm: No Counsel
Application No., Date, Speed: 18049319 on 10/25/2022 (784 days app to issue)
Abstract: A regenerative braking controller for an AC motor. To determine an electromagnetic torque for slowing or stopping the motor, the regenerative braking controller accesses a lookup table to retrieve a braking torque value corresponding to a current estimate of rotor velocity. The retrieved braking torque may correspond to a maximum or minimum torque level at which regenerative braking will occur at the current rotor velocity, or to a torque level at which charging current during regenerative braking will be maximized. If an external mechanical brake is present, the regenerative braking controller can forward an external braking torque signal to a controller so that the mechanical brake can apply the remainder of the braking force beyond that indicated by the regenerative braking torque. A method for establishing the braking torques to be stored in the lookup table is also disclosed.

Abstract: A plurality of flow control nodes are spaced along a production conduit for controlling a flow of formation fluids into the production conduit at different locations in the well. Each flow control node defines a flow path for entry of the formation fluids into the production conduit. A closure is operable to adjust the flow of the formation fluids into the production conduit. A generator at each zone generates electrical power in response to a portion of the flow directed through the generator. An electrical power grid interconnects the plurality of flow control nodes to collectively supply electrical power to the power grid. Each closure and other device components are operable with the electrical power from the power grid.

Law Firm: Greenberg Traurig (27 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 17563985 on 12/28/2021 (1085 days app to issue)
Abstract: A computing system, method and apparatus to cache a portion of a data block. A processor can access data using memory addresses in an address space. A first memory can store a block of data at a block of contiguous addresses in the space of memory address. A second memory can cache a first portion of the block of data identified by an item selection vector. For example, response to a request to cache the block of data stored in the first memory, the computing system can communicate the first portion of the block of data from the first memory to the second memory according to the item selection vector without accessing a second portion of the block of data. Thus, different data blocks in the first memory of a same size can be each cached in different cache blocks of different sizes in the second memory.

Conflicts degrade network slice performance and can, in some cases, disable a network. According to one implementation, a network device stores, for a Service Design and Creation (SDC) function, a Unified Network Slice Assurance Template (UNSAT) with multiple SAPs for a network slice configuration. The UNSAT includes a functional block identifying a first SAP associated with a functional category of a network function, and a resource block identifying a second SAP associated with a resource category of network infrastructure. The network device performs, based on the multiple SAPs, design time conflict identification that detects when actions from the multiple SAPs that are associated with a same network function conflict with each other and provides a notification when the design time conflict identification identifies a conflict.

Mutable access tokens
Patent No. 12170672
Inventor(s): Abhishek Acharya (Irving, TX), Gayathri Sundar (Irving, TX)
Assignee(s): CITICORP CREDIT SERVICES, INC. (USA) (Jacksonville, FL)
Law Firm: Perkins Coie LLP (17 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 18218973 on 07/06/2023 (530 days app to issue)
Abstract: A network system to provide mutable access tokens for access requests that eliminate a need for token replacement. The system allows an access token to be changed to update data in the token. When data stored with the token changes, such as when a user or partner has a change in status, a new token is not required to be requested, generated, dispersed, or stored. Conventional systems refuse the API call request and require the new token be provided. The described system instead completes the request while simultaneously notifying the user to subsequently retrieve an updated access token. Requesting, generating, communicating, and presenting a new token requires additional time, bandwidth, computing capacity, and system interactions. While performing new token acquisition in conventional systems, devices are forced to perform additional interactions, which may result in a time delay or in one or more devices exceeding capacity, becoming overloaded, and seizing.

Method and apparatus for real-time SAO parameter estimation
Patent No. 12170780
Inventor(s): Hrushikesh Tukaram Garud (Maharashtra, , IN), Mihir Narendra Mody (Bangalore, , IN), Soyeb Nagori (Bangalore, , IN)
Assignee(s): TEXAS INSTRUMENTS INCORPORATED (Dallas, TX)
Law Firm: No Counsel
Application No., Date, Speed: 18369315 on 09/18/2023 (456 days app to issue)
Abstract: The disclosure provides a sample adaptive offset (SAO) encoder. The SAO encoder includes a statistics collection (SC) block and a rate distortion optimization (RDO) block coupled to the SC block. The SC block receives a set of deblocked pixels and a set of original pixels. The SC block categorizes each deblocked pixel of the set of deblocked pixels in at least one of a plurality of band and edge categories. The SC block estimates an error in each category as difference between a deblocked pixel of the set of deblocked pixels and corresponding original pixel of the set of original pixels. The RDO block determines a set of candidate offsets associated with each category and selects a candidate offset with a minimum RD cost. The minimum RD cost is used by a SAO type block and a decision block to generate final offsets for the SAO encoder.
