More than 30 keynote speakers from retailers and tech companies will join physicist and futurist Michio Kaku at the National Retail Federation’s Digital Summit Sept. 26-28.

Companies that will have speakers at the event include Sephora, Shinola, J.C. Penney, Facebook, Google, and Pinterest. Girls Who Code founder Reshma Saujani and Marc Maron, a podcast host and comedian, will be keynote speakers.

Kaku, a theoretical physicist who has written books and appeared on television shows, will speak. He is the co-founder of String Theory in physics, a theoretical framework in which one-dimensional objects called strings replace the point-like particles of particle physics. The theory explains how those strings propagate through space and interact with one another.

The Shop.org Digital Commerce Startup of the Year competition will give three finalists a chance to make Shark Tank-style pitches to investors and industry experts.

There also will be a Digital Marketing Workshop, with separate registration, that will go over the best strategies for marketing your company via websites, social media, and email.

This event is separate from the Retail Innovation Lounge event going on the same days at the Dallas Entrepreneur Center in the West End. However, organizers have coordinated a shuttle that will give attendees the opportunity to attend both events.

National Retail Federation’s Digital Summit will be at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in downtown Dallas. For more information, visit the NRF’s website.
