The Human Rights Campaign Foundation has awarded perfect scores of 100 percent to 13 Dallas-Fort Worth companies on its 2018 Corporate Equality Index.
The CEI is a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate practices and policies pertaining to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) workplace equality. The companies who earned perfect scores represented all facets of industry, from technology and transportation to finance and business services.
The DFW companies receiving a CEI perfect score were:
Alliance Data Systems Corp. (Plano)
American Airlines (Fort Worth)
AT&T Inc. (Dallas)
Comerica Inc. (Dallas)
GameStop Corp. (Grapevine)
J.C. Penney Co. Inc. (Plano)
Kimberly-Clark Corp. (Irving)
Locke Lord LLP (Dallas)
Nokia Inc. (Irving)*
Southwest Airlines (Dallas)
Texas Instruments (Dallas)
Toyota Motor North America (Plano)
TPG Global LLC (Fort Worth)
To determine the top scores for its CEI, the HRCF evaluates LGBTQ-related policies and practices, including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBTQ community. In this report, 609 employers across the U.S. earned 100 percent scores.
“On a practical level, this means that millions of LGBTQ workers across America — as well as LGBTQ workers employed by multinational companies around the globe — are covered under non-discrimination policies and able to bring their full selves to work every day,” noted HRCF President, Chad Griffin, in the CEI report’s introduction.
Many other companies awarded perfect scores have a DFW presence. See the full list here.
