Dallas-based Health Wildcatters announced Wednesday the six new companies that comprise the health-care startup accelerator’s fall 2018 cohort.
The companies come from across the country as well as Israel, and began the accelerator’s program on Monday. They are participating in a special team “reveal” event from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Health Wildcatters in downtown Dallas.
“We’re excited to welcome the newest additions to our portfolio of companies and are impressed by the wide variety of the teams,” Health Wildcatters co-founder Carl Soderstrom said in a release. “This year we have teams representing health IT, pharmaceuticals, and diagnostics.”
The new startup accelerator members include:
ClikRX
A solution to simplify the process of prescribing durable medical equipment by shifting the processes that are traditionally hand-written and transferred by fax to a digital platform.
Halo Mountain
Addressing the clinical need and market opportunity to create an effective treatment for early-stage Alzheimer’s disease.
MycoDart
A diagnostic test for the early and rapid detection of clinically significant invasive fungal and Candida infections.
Sentiv
A platform for nonprofits to create exciting and engaging virtual fitness fundraising events that allows supporters to participate at their own pace and on their own time.
Sppare.me
Transforming fertility care into a comfortable, affordable, and data-driven journey through an integrated platform that helps individuals and couples navigate their fertility journey from inception to conception.
StingRay Therapeutics
An immuno-oncology company developing a medication for more effective cancer and infectious disease treatment.
Health Wildcatters also announced that it will run a second program in the spring of 2019.
“We are often asked by potential program participants, investors and members of the startup community why we don’t run a program in the spring,” Health Wildcatters CEO Hubert Zajicek, MD, MBA, said in the release. “We’ve considered it for many years, and now due to increasing demand we’ve decided to pilot running two programs a year favoring smaller class sizes in order to provide greater access and coaching to the teams.”
