Fort Worth’s Dickies Arena Named by Billboard as One of World’s Top-Grossing Venues

The mid-2023 report lists a total gross revenue of $39.9 million for Dickies Arena, placing it No. 2 in the world for venues of its size—after only Glasgow, Scotland's OVO Hydro Arena.

Billboard Magazine’s Mid-Year Touring Report has placed Fort Worth’s Dickies Arena near the very top of the world’s top-grossing venues for arenas seating 10,000 to 15,000.

Billboard’s mid-2023 report lists a total gross revenue of $39.9 million for Dickies Arena, placing it No. 2 on the global list after only Glasgow, Scotland’s OVO Hydro Arena, which snagged $40.4 million.

Dickies is followed on the list at No. 3 by Hamburg, Germany’s Barclays Arena at $33.8 million.

The only other U.S. venues in Dickies Arena’s size range to crack Billboard’s Top 10 list were the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas ($24.2 million) and Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert, California ($17.3 million).

The rankings were based on total gross revenues for the six-month period between November 2022 through April 2023.

Dickies even beat out the Super Bowl, in a sense

How big is the impact of Dickies Arena? From January 13 to February 4, it hosted events for the annual Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo. PredictHQ estimated the FWSSR events would generate $142.1 million in economic activity, including $52 million for accommodations, $21.8 million for transport, and $68.1 million for restaurants.

That was a bigger economic impact than even the 2023 Super Bowl, which was expected to generate $123.7 million for local businesses.
