Zimperium, a Dallas-based global leader in mobile security backed by Liberty Strategic Capital and SoftBank, has named Michael Williams as its new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). According to the announcement, Williams brings over two decades of cybersecurity marketing experience to the role, positioning Zimperium for continued growth in the rapidly evolving mobile security landscape.
Williams joins Zimperium from KnowBe4, where he served as CMO and played a key role in the company’s successful IPO and subsequent acquisition. His leadership at KnowBe4 resulted in top industry rankings and significant annual recurring revenue growth, Zimperium noted.
Prior to KnowBe4, Williams held the CMO position at Symantec, where he spearheaded the company’s resurgence in pipeline and enterprise growth, according to the news release. His extensive background also includes senior leadership roles at Blue Coat Systems and McAfee, where he developed and implemented global marketing growth strategies.
Shridhar Mittal, CEO of Zimperium, expressed confidence in the appointment: “Michael’s extensive experience and proven success in the cybersecurity sector makes him the ideal leader to drive our marketing efforts. We are confident that Michael’s vision and leadership will help Zimperium achieve new heights of success,” he said in a statement.
In his new role, Williams will oversee Zimperium’s marketing strategy, focusing on expanding market penetration and thought leadership. The company said his appointment comes at a critical time, as cyber attacks on mobile devices and applications reach unprecedented levels.
Williams commented on his new position: “Cyber attacks on mobile devices and applications are at an all-time high as organized cyber criminals exploit mobile as the primary infiltration point for ransomware, credential theft, and account takeover. Zimperium is the global leader in mobile security, and I’m very proud to be part of their mission to protect enterprises across the world.”
Zimperium said its Mobile-First Security Platform is designed to meet the demands of mobile business, providing security across both applications and devices. The company’s approach involves autonomous mobile security that adapts to changing environments, allowing businesses to capitalize on mobile-powered opportunities securely.
